FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Recent BUY-WAY Yard Sale Winners Announced
(New London, Ohio) — "We enjoyed the hunt, and are looking forward to
next year's (yard sale)," said Kimberly Conn and Kendra Kulwicki of
the New London Area, when submitting their gaggle of yard sale
scavenger hunt finds. Among the dozen items was a red striped tie, a
tire pressure gauge
and animal salt & pepper shakers. The entry
consisted of an email and attached digital photo of the items atop a
table, with a listing of where and when each item was found. From
qualified entrants, their name was drawn for first prize.
Kendra Kulwicki and daughter Brittany, along with Kimberly
Conncelebrate the first- place prize bag of goodies from the BUY-WAY
scavenger hunt in front of New London's Triangle and gazebo.
"We had the hardest time finding the bottle shaker until we figured
out what it actually was." They had a great time and were amazed at
the number of sales in small towns they'd never heard of before.
The couple will split "free things to do for a year" along Ohio's
Lincoln Highway which include an overnight stay, dinners for two,
complimentary museum and symphony tickets, free gas and other free
"stuff" across Ohio.
Second place
went to a team of three ladies from East Liverpool, Ohio. Lareen Wolf,
Betty Watson and Margaret Javens traveled Thursday evening to Fort
Wayne, Indiana, then shopped all the way back for two days, arriving
back home at the BUY-WAY's eastern terminus with their completed
scavenger hunt finds. One of the ladies, Lareen Wolf commented that
yard salers, themselves, got into the spirit of the hunt and helped
them look through their own wares for the needed items. Lareen also
said they might just need "an 18-wheeler to take next year to get all
our stuff in!"
Third place went to Cindy Milbrodt of Massillon.
The Lincoln Highway BUY-WAY Yard Sale more-than-doubled this
year, adding Indiana's two alignments of the historic byway to Ohio's
length of road. Ohio, alone, hosted over 660 yard sales. Dates for
next year are August 9. 10 and 11, 2007.
