Rowsburg, Ohio

It is said that Rowsburg had the most volunteers for the Civil War for miles around, and a simple stone memorial stands at the west edge of town to attest to this. Settled in the 1820's, pioneers here operated a boot and shoe company, a carriage works, and a blacksmith shop. This town saw the departure of the Rowsburg Gold-Searching Company...off to find El Dorado in 1849!

Rowsburg has an old brick segment now serving as a private driveway.
