Here in Crawford county's oldest settlement you'll find the 1829 general store of Rev. Robert Lee, now J&M Trading Post antique shop and on the National Historic Register. The store has been in continuous operation through 26 owners.

Across from this shop is a Lincoln Highway post replica that was rededicated in 2003.

The Lincoln Highway's path was changed from passing through Galion to Crestline and Leesville beginning in 1920.

Leesville was a sandstone quarry town that produced a very high grade "Waverly" sandstone until the 1890s.

A more enduring way to mark the route was needed because earlier signs and poles were being destroyed or rotting from age. On September 1, 1928, the Boy Scouts of America planted the famous concrete posts all across the route. The post at the left was put in place in Leesville, where a replica now stands.
